I had my chain appraised 2 weeks ago by a high end jewelry store here locally; I received documentation for my chain which included several photographs; the jewelry store appraised my 14K solid gold chain at just under $6,900.00 USD. They offered to buy the chain from me that day for a cash scrap gold price of $677.00. I brought the chain back home but I will take everyone's advice here and not attempt to sell it myself here.

I also wouldn't put an ad in my local newspaper's classified ads section because these are crazy times we're living in. I attempted to sell a 4 year old Ralph Lauren Polo size XLT men's leather jacket; black in color; it was my father's; he passed away 3 years ago; it still has the tags on it; I asked $100.00 cash in my ad; I ran my ad for one week and I did not receive one phone call.
